What is Modernism Week? Once in February and once in October, Palm Springs Modernism Week celebrates Mid Century Modern architecture with a slew of events including house tours, vendor sales, double decker bus tours, parties, walking tours, panel discussions and more. Rare, architecturally significant private homes you may only see in coffee table architecture books or in the pages of Atomic Ranch magazine are open for tours.
What can you expect at Palm Springs Modernism Week 2024?
In a press release, Lisa Vossler Smith, Modernism Week CEO comments on this year’s line-up, from February 15-25, 2024.
“We are thrilled that Modernism Week is returning for its 19th year in Palm Springs. We are excited about the compelling new programs this year, including an emphasis on architect Albert Frey’s work. We have expanded our architectural bus tours, and will offer a variety of parties, educational talks, vintage fashion, live jazz and more. We are very pleased to be offering CAMP, our headquarters, again inside the Hyatt Palm Springs. We invite the public to join us for eleven amazing days of festivities.”
Enjoy cocktails and reverie with fellow MCM fans at Sinatra’s former Twin Palms Estate, take in the keynote presentation on the exhibition of Modernist architecture such as Albert Frey’s Aluminaire House. Step inside carefully preserved and updated Mid Century Modern homes and enjoy hearing from the homeowners and design professionals themselves about their period sensitive updates and design process.
