Spa Central
Miami Beach is a much sought-after vacation spot because of its sunny weather, myriad beaches and hip hang outs. The Standard fits right in, but with a twist—it’s inspired by the midcentury era. “[It’s] less a ‘hotel,’ and more a spa with guest rooms,” the website says. “The Spa encourages the communal rituals of ancient bathing traditions and serves as a hub for sessions by some of the world’s top yogis and treatments by expert practitioners.” In addition to guest rooms, the spa itself (complimentary to guests) includes everything from a Turkish-style hamam, aroma steam room and Roman waterfall hot tub to a Finnish sauna, arctic plunge, treatment baths, mud lounge and infinity pool. Not to mention the actual treatment rooms.
Social Hubspot
Not only is The Standard a place to relax, but it regularly hosts events. These include film screenings, bingo nights and poetry readings. These often happen in the hotel’s communal spaces, which give off a cool MCM vibe, from the Lido Lounge to the Desert Lounge and Bayside Dock.
The Standard also has several dining areas, from the casual Juice Cafe and Terrace to the outdoor Lido Bayside Grill and indoor Desert Lounge. There are plenty of spaces to relax, host events and get business done while soaking in the midcentury surroundings.
