If you’re anything like us, you’ve gotten to know your home *pretty well* these past few months. (Or has it been years? We’re not sure anymore.) You know where the morning light is the prettiest, where your pet naps every afternoon and exactly how long it takes you to get from your home office to the kitchen. But being home more often than not comes with its own unique set of challenges, one of them being clutter.
So, how do you keep the mess away? A good first step is a declutter a la the KonMari method. After you’ve finished with that, it’s time to figure out a better way to store your stuff.

Hidden Storage
The first way you can keep your home clutter-free is by storing the clutter out of sight. (Out of sight, out of mind, right?) And we’re not talking about shoving it in a closet—no, there are far more stylish and practical ways to store sundries. You can look for a storage ottoman for a seating/storage combo, a coffee table with a lift top that can hide away remotes and magazines or a credenza that boosts the Mid Mod look of any space while providing cabinets for books, movies or bar supplies.
Elnsivo Storage Ottomans, Set of 2, $84.99
WLIVE Wood Lift Top Coffee Table, $159.99
Modway Render Two-Tier Display Stand, $172
Open Storage
Perhaps what some would call clutter, you would call tchotchkes. If that’s you, there’s no shame in wanting to show off your stuff. For a more visible storage option, why not go for a beautifully designed bookcase or a cane-accented ètagère for an MCM twist? But if you need a storage method that can be accessed quickly and often, try out a narrow rolling shelf that will fit in even the most awkward of spaces.

Ebo Étagère, $795
Wood & Steel Slim Storage Cabinet, $120
Small Storage
Now that you have your storage solutions, it’s time to keep them organized! Avoid the junk-drawer effect by using small containers and bins to sort out stuff within your storage. Steel trays and Italian totes are stylish options to keep things in their place. And keep your home organized with other helpers too, like Bauhaus-inspired wall hooks and a key box with retro flair.
