Earlier this month, Pantone announced its 2024 color of the year as Peach Fuzz. Halfway between pink and orange, this hue both comforts and energizes. We don’t suggest overhauling your home based on the color of the year, but if you’re looking to freshen up a few elements in your home, these peachy keen accents and accessories are a fun place to start.
You will find peach in some MCM palettes, but it’s not as common as other colors such as tangerine. But not to worry, there are several approaches you can take: You can group things in warm color families with reds, oranges, coppers, even beige and pops of peach. Or you can play the newly dubbed color of the year off complementary colors like turquoises and teals. If you’re having trouble tracking down “peach,” you can sometimes find it by switching your search term to “coral” rather than peach. Just beware peach is one of those colors that can be hard to gauge if you’re shopping online. If it’s a larger investment item like an item of furniture, we highly advise that you order a fabric swatch first.
For a piece of vintage mid century peach, here is a fabulous costume designed by Cecil Beaton for Audrey Hepburn’s role as Eliza Doolittle in the 1964 film production of My Fair Lady.
And without further ado, here are some accents that can bring a peachy keen pop of color to your home to welcome in a new year with its newly crowned color. For a few, we went for a color cousin that will work well in combination with peach.

Rugs are a great way to refresh a space with one simple swap. The freehand graphic on this rug gives it a modern feel while the peach/coral color provides a playful softness. For more modern patterned rugs in action, hop over to our Project House Austin project for more inspiration.
It’s no secret that we love bullet planters around here, but what you may not have realized is that you could get one in coral! Bookmark the idea for a fabulous Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day gift in 2024.
Of course, another fantastic accent to any MCM home is tile. We love the fish scale design and color palette of the Cherry Blossom blend that includes peach, pink and green grounded in white. Learn more about Mercury Mosaics in our Modern Makers series here.
The terracotta color of this bath towel will pair well with the peach tones in the Cherry Blend tile above and the bath mat below.
This bath mat’s wavy pattern with blocks of blush pink and terracotta/copper blend are close neighbors of peach, and the pattern feels modern and playful. Plus, bath mats are an easy way to switch up the feel of a space without too much investment.
The peach color of this resin soap dish feels classic and timeless and will pair well with most any MCM decor.
Ok, again, we’re keeping within the warm color family because we just love this headboard so much with its velvet upholstery, radial symmetry, Art Deco vibes and built-in shelves just the right size for a glasses case and some bedside reading. It would pair well with the peach linen bedding set below, and in contrast to the headboard, the peach will look almost like a neutral.
While peach probably connotes spring and summer, this peach bedding set is simple enough that it can work year-round and will pair marvelously with the upholstered headboard above.
