If you love midcentury ranch homes, it may seem like every day is Eichler Day, but tomorrow at Modernism Week in Palm Springs there will be an all-day celebration of this architect’s work, history and legacy.
The day starts with a panel of Eichler enthusiasts: Monique Lombardelli (producer of the film “People in Glass Houses”), Cory Buckner (L.A. architect and author of “A. Quincy Jones” and more), Steven Shields (contractor and builder of Desert Eichlers) and Troy Kudlac (developer of Desert Eichlers). Stay for the film “People in Glass Houses: The Legacy of Joseph Eichler,” remastered with new, unseen footage.
Round out your day with a tour of the new Desert Eichlers. These homes are newly built from Joseph Eichler’s original floorplans but are modernized for the contemporary homeowner. Developed by Troy Kudlac of KUD Properties and built by Steven Shields, these Desert Eichlers are bringing back the classic design of a midcentury trademark architect to the Palm Springs area.
