Eichler homes are quintessentially mid century— they’re filled with wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling windows and indoor-outdoor living. However, these unique homes could only be found in a few places across the country, and none were built in the Mid Mod mecca of Palm Springs.
But that all changed a few years ago when Palm Springs developer KUD Properties acquired Eichler plans and became the exclusive builder of ‘Desert Eichler’ homes.
These homes were designed and built for Palm Springs and brought 21st-century convenience to mid 20th-century style. They feature amenities like luxury kitchens, pools and high-end finishes. Take a look at a few of them below.

The Flat Roof Eichler is just over 2400 sq. ft and has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It has a central atrium and a spacious open floor plan that allows for easy movement between spaces. This design, like the others, features terrazzo tile flooring for that authentic mid century feel. Check out the floorplan here.
The A-Frame Eichler is a similar size to the Flat Roof Eichler, but with a retro twist— an A-Frame roof. This design also has a slightly smaller kitchen with a slightly larger living room. The A-Frame Eichler, like the Flat Roof and Gallery Eichler, is energy efficient too, with an insulated roof and dual-pane windows. Check out the floorplan here.
The Gallery Eichler also holds 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and contains a fireplace in the living area. The home also features an open atrium and a dressing room attached to the master bedroom. And the home takes wood paneling to the next level— this home, like the others, features walnut flooring and cabinetry. Check out the floorplan here.
